My first pattern, named for Emily's characteristic phrase of "Bye bye. . . push" when she wants you to leave her alone. ;-)
A variation of the Martha Stewart Coming Home poncho. As written, sized for a Child's 3, which is a little big for her as seen in the picture where it suddenly turns into a toga. Ha! She'll grow into it.
Materials:
2 skeins Lion Brand Homespun (Sunshine State), 4 skeins Lion Brand Fun Fur (Red), US 11 Needles
Scalloped Edge Pattern:
Row 1 - K
Row 2 - K
Row 3 - P
Row 4 - *[k2tog] 3 times, [yo, k1] 6 times, [k2tog] 3 times*
Panel: Make 4
Cast on 54 stitches.
Work scalloped edge pattern 3 times.
Rows 1 and 2 - [k2tog] K to last 2 stiches [k2tog] = decreasing 4 stitches total
Row 3 - P
Row 4 - K
Repeat Rows 1-4 until 14 stitches remain on needle.
K 1 row.
Place on stitch holder to be worked later.
Once 4 panels have been made, sew side seams, leaving 1 of the 4 seams open.
Slip all stitches onto needle and work in garter stitch until neck measures 2''.
Bind off knitwise.
Sew remaining seam, add embellishments if desired and voila! (Knits up quick. It only took me a week.)
